Idris Elba feels 'in-between places' and can't settle down

Los Angeles - Idris Elba can't find a home to settle down in.

The 41-year-old star - who is expecting a baby with his make-up artist girlfriend Naiyana Garth - came back to England from Los Angeles before his father Winston died last September after losing his battle with lung cancer and he still feels "in-between places".

He told the Metro newspaper: "I'm in a no man's land. I'm in-between places. I can't really settle down yet."

Idris stars in Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom as the late civil rights activist and former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela - who died in December 2013.

Idris' father Winston was a big admirer and supporter of Mandela and as well as researching the politician's life, the actor also based elements of his portrayal on his dad.

Idris explained: "My dad was a shop steward at Ford, he was a real union guy: always fighting for the workers, and to anyone like that Mandela was a hero. Any time the BBC World Service was in our house we'd have to be quiet if he was talking about Mandela."
