Iggy Azalea diagnosed with painful jaw condition

Los Angeles - Iggy Azalea has been diagnosed with the jaw condition TMJ.

The 24-year-old rapper has revealed she is suffering with the painful ailment, also known as temporomandibular joint dysfunction, which can be caused by stress and restricts movement of the mouth and makes eating and talking more difficult.

Despite her diagnosis, Iggy is staying positive and is going to do everything in her own control to get better.

In a series of posts on Twitter, she revealed: "Last month I was diagnosed with TMJ which isn't the best ... I don't think western medicine all the way acknowledges what a huge toll mental stress takes on our bodies. But I do believe it is a factor. I'm gonna make more of an effort to take care of myself in 2015, stay away from all the drama & hopefully not have any flair ups. So that's my little update and message! Look after your body and mind in the new year. (sic)"

The Black Widow hitmaker also assured her fans the condition won't affect her music career and she is set to start work on her next album - the follow-up to 2014's The New Classic - next week.

Still referring to her TMJ, she tweeted: "Anyhow I don't think it will ever prevent me from doing anything I want to but it has made me realize it's important to look after yourself ... I'm back to work on my second album next week... Anxious to get going on it. The excited kind of anxious. (sic)"

In 2014, Iggy was involved in heated public feuds with Eminem - who threatened to rape her in his song Vegas - and Snoop Dogg, who mocked her looks online but eventually backed down after her mentor T.I. stepped in and asked his friend Snoop to apologise to Iggy.
