Is this the secret behind Candice Swanepoel and Charlize Theron's international fame? It could very well be!

Los Angeles - Candice Swanepoel, just like Charlize Theron, has ballet to thank for her career as a model.

The South African born beauty says the demanding dance discipline helped to strengthen her posture and joints so she had perfect poise for the catwalk.

She told Marie Claire magazine: "I studied ballet when I was growing up. It has helped a lot with modelling because I think about all parts of my body, from my fingers to my toes."

If she hadn't been spotted to become a model aged 15 she would have continued with her ballet studies, or "maybe I would have become a veterinarian".

The star also said her job with as a Victoria's Secret Angel involves much more than simply modelling underwear.

She added: "It comes with a different kind of responsibility. It's not just about posing for shoots. People know your name and your personality."

Candice, 25, also revealed an unusual hidden talent.

She added: "I am very good at pretending I am not nervous!"

The model - who is dating Hermann Nicoli - has also recently said she loves to have dance music playing when she is on photoshoots as it helps her keep her energy levels up.

Speaking of a recent shoot for the brand Bottletop in Brazil, she said: "We had a DJ playing electronic dance music all afternoon to keep our energy and spirits high and I think you can tell we had a great time by the quality of the images."
