Los Angeles - Nicki Minaj had to learn to "sleep alone" following her split from Safaree Samuels.
The Bed of Lies hitmaker, who recently split from her boyfriend of 12 years, admits she is "a vulnerable woman" despite her tough image and worried about sharing her pain on her new album, The Pinkprint.
She said: "One of my goals was to give people a glimpse into my personal life, because it's something I've kept very private."
But the 32-year-old star is proud of herself for being brave enough to share her heartbreak.
She told Rolling Stone magazine: "I had to learn to do something as simple as sleep alone. I struggled with 'Do I express these feelings?' And I decided there's no reason for me to hide. I'm a vulnerable woman, and I'm proud of that."
