Jay Z and Beyoncé splash out £20k on booze

Los Angeles - Jay Z and Beyoncé spent £20 000 (R314 000) on alcohol in five days.

The pair splashed out on the finest beverages available, including Belvedere vodka, Rémy Martin cognac, Dom Perignon and Armand de Brignac champagne, as they cruised around the Mediterranean with their 20-month-old daughter Blue Ivy.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Jay's really into his expensive booze but his food tastes are really simple."

Despite their expensive taste in alcohol, the couple appreciate the goodness of regular supermarket food products including breakfast cereal Cheerios and popular US peanut butter brand Skippy.

'No-frills grub'

The source explained: "It was specifically requested that the yacht crew stock up with American items like Skippy peanut butter, Cheerios, hot dogs with American mustard and New York-style buns and chicken nuggets.

"He loves going out to high-end restaurants but when he's kicking back he likes no-frills grub washed down with top-notch quality drink."

Beyoncé and Jay Z began their Mediterranean adventure last week after flying to Europe following Beyoncé's headline performance at the Made in America festival, held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 1 September.
