Jennifer Aniston cancels Mexico wedding

Los Angeles - Jennifer Aniston has scrapped plans for an intimate New Year's beach wedding.

The actress - who announced her engagement to her 40-year-old boyfriend Justin Theroux in August - was reportedly planning to tie the knot in the presence of a small number of their close friends and family during their current holiday in Mexico but have now decided to postpone the ceremony as they feel they have already attracted too much attention.

A source close to the 43-year-old actress told OK! Magazine: "Originally they wanted to fly everyone to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for a small barefoot-on-the-beach ceremony, but that plan was scrapped after the details were leaked."

Top secret new plans

But the insider insisted the couple - who have been spotted kissing and cuddling as they soaked up the sun in recent days - are really excited to get married soon but want to keep their new plans top secret.

The source said: "They are both incredibly excited. Jen can't believe it's actually happening. Jen's in a super place at the moment. She's on an all-time high."

The couple has been spotted hanging out with a number of their celebrity pals at their private villa at the plush El Dorado resort over the festive season.

They welcomed John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Jimmy Kimmel, and Molly McNearney for a post-Christmas vacation and the three couples have been relaxing by the pool.

And they also enjoyed a private dinner with George Clooney and his girlfriend Stacy Keibler on Thursday.
