Jennifer Lawrence to get wasted at Oscars

Los Angeles - Jennifer Lawrence is looking forward to getting "wasted" at the Oscars.

The 22-year-old actress is nominated for the coveted Best Actress Academy Award for her role in Silver Linings Playbook and she isn't nervous about the ceremony because her loved ones are taking it in their stride - and she is mostly excited about letting her hair down on the big night on 24 February.

She said: "It's very calm at my house. Nobody in my family has fully absorbed it. I can talk about other things than myself, which is great.

"And then the night of the Oscars, everybody just gets wasted and has a blast."

'Eating normally calms me down'

Jennifer - who was nominated for an Oscar in 2011 for Winter's Bone - has vowed to opt for fashion over comfort at this year's ceremony, though she admits she was left uncomfortable when she walked the red carpet last time because she had eaten too much in a bid to relax her nerves.

Speaking at the annual Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon held in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday, she said: "Last time was comfort. This year I'm like, 'Suck it up. Wear a corset.' I'm going to go for fashion this time.

"Eating normally calms me down. I remember before the Oscars I was wearing that skin-tight dress and I ate a Philly cheese steak and fries and was like, 'This is definitely going to help.' Which it didn't because I had to double my Spanx."
