Los Angeles - Jessica Simpson and former footballer Eric Johnson are engaged.
Us magazine reports that Johnson proposed to Jessica on Thursday. The couple began dating in May, three months after the sportsman filed for divorce from stylist Keri Johnson.
Simpson has praised Johnson for making her happier than ever.
She said: "He definitely makes me very happy. He brings out a lot of light in me and makes me very comfortable being who I am. It's nice to be with somebody who praises you for the right reasons."
The news of Simpson's engagement comes just days after her ex-husband Nick Lachey announced his engagement to long-time girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo.
Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey starred in the 2002 MTV reality series Newlyweds, which chronicled their new life together. The pair divorced in 2005.
