Los Angeles - Josh Duhamel got Ryan Seacrest's approval to kiss Julianne Hough on screen.
The 40-year-old actor stars alongside the blonde beauty in his latest film Safe Haven and felt he needed to reach out to the American Idol host before shooting steamy scenes with his fiancée "out of respect".
Speaking to Access Hollywood, Josh explained: "Yes, I did feel the need to seek approval from Ryan before we started shooting the movie - mostly out of respect for Ryan and the relationship. But it was rather awkward!"
'Should I call Fergie?'
However, Julianne, 24, didn't think to get in touch with the hunky Transformers star's other half, Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie, until Josh reached out to her partner.
"Once [Josh] did it, I was like, 'Oh shoot! Should I call Fergie? Whoops," Julianne said. "But no - they're awesome. Fergie's amazing, so is Ryan, so... I mean, they haven't seen the movie yet, so we'll see!"
Julianne also played coy when asked who kisses better, her Safe Haven co-star or her fiancé.
She quipped to E! News: "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa .. so you're saying if I were to be honest and say Josh, that would be ... no, I'm just kidding."
