Los Angeles - Julianne Hough couldn't handle Ryan Seacrest's hectic work schedule.
The 24-year-old actress split up with the 38-year-old American Idol host recently after almost three years together, because she reportedly wants a "more low-key life" and friends don't think they will ever reconcile.
A source told UsMagazine.com: "It's a lifestyle she couldn't handle anymore. Work always, always came first [for Ryan]. She wants a more low-key life. Dude works all the time. He never sleeps."
Not interested in marrying Ryan
Another source explained that the couple grew tired of struggling to make time for each other, saying: "Honestly, their schedules were too hectic. It just got to be too much. I think they both just sort of knew they couldn't do it anymore. The travel and lifestyle got to be too much. Who knows if this is just for now, but I think this is for good."
Ryan - who is also a producer on Keeping Up With The Kardashians as well as a number of other reality TV shows - has been getting over the split by partying with Justin Timberlake, 32, at the iHeartRadio release party for the singer's new album The 20/20 Experience in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Julianne has been making the most of her downtime by hanging out with her female friends including The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev at a basketball game.
Just last month, the professional dancer turned actress hinted that she was not interested in marrying Ryan.
"I always thought of who I'm going to be with the rest of my life and what my life is going to be like with that person," she said during the interview.
"I was one of those girls when I was a kid that never really planned a wedding or thought of the big wedding day. A wedding to me is whatever, I mean, it's a cool party but I'm not a big wedding kind of person."
