Kanye West goes on an ego trip and calls for boycott on Louis Vuitton

New York  - Kanye West is trying to get New York City to boycott Louis Vuitton.

The Bound 2 rapper is disgruntled with the French fashion house's head, Yves Carcelle, after he refused to meet him when he was in Paris, and he is planning to teach him a lesson by publicly telling the people of New York City to stop buying his company's products.

Speaking on New York's 92.3 NOW radio station, Kanye said: "I wanted to meet with Yves in Paris. He said 'I don't understand why we need to meet with you?' I said, let me explain to you why you need to meet with me. Everybody in New York City right now, don't buy any Louis Vuitton until after January. Now do you want to meet with me? Now do you want to meet with me? Influence. They think that I don't realise my power."

Whether the people of New York heed Kanye's demands is yet to be seen.

Kanye proud of the Kardashians

Meanwhile, the rapper has gone on to praise his fiancee, Kim Kardashian's, reality TV starring family, saying they don't get enough credit for the good they do. In particular, he believes they have helped change people's views on interracial relationships.

Kim's sister, Khloe, is married to African-American basketball star Lamar Odom, and her younger sisters have also dated black guys in the past.

Kanye told Radio.com: "The Kardashians prep America to accept interracial relationships.

"I'm not talking about me, I can hop on a plane. I can date a white woman, I can date a black woman, and no matter what they say in the barber shop don't matter, because I don't get my haircut there.

"For the people that do, though, there's a white woman that's getting talked down to by her friends because she's dating a black guy. Now you've got a point of reference, that you can say, 'Well, actually this couple right here, that's dope.'"
