Los Angeles - A Kate Middleton doll has gone on sale.
The limited edition Princess Catherine Engagement Doll - which was created to mark the future royal's upcoming nuptials to Prince William - was launched by Hamley's toy store in London on Thursday.
Created with the help of seven British fashion designers to capture Kate's classic style, the toy went on sale for £35, with only 10 000 available.
The Catherine Doll wears a blue dress designed by Pussy Willow, accessorised with a gold mock snakeskin Eaton clutch bag, high-heeled shoes designed by Beatriz Ong and a replica of her engagement ring with a real purple amethyst.
The Kate Effect
For every doll sold, £1 will be donated to charity Help For Heroes, which helps support soldiers and their families.
Lucie Follett, spokesperson for Champions of British Style, which launched the doll, said: "The catwalks this season show a feminine and elegant trend that is very much in keeping with that of Kate Middleton.
"Some commentators think we are seeing the beginnings of 'The Kate Effect', which could prove a huge bonus in promoting the best of British fashion and style to a global market.
"We have been thrilled by the enthusiasm and support of our designers and each in their own way has embodied the ethos of great British style in the creation of the Princess Catherine Doll."
