Los Angeles - Kate Winslet has been accused of snubbing her fans.

beauty is said to have ignored people who waited out in the rain with the hope of meeting her when she was filming her latest movie, Labor Day in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, US.

Fan and local resident Shanna Swan told Star Magazine in the US: "Kate was so rude, she never once acknowledged any of us, I was devastated.

"She gave dirty looks to people in my town who waited hours to see her.

"Upon her arrival everyone was yelling 'Kate we love you!' and you could hear everyone gasping with excitement when her black Cadillac pulled up."

'When she was mean, I was crushed'

However, Shanna claims the whole town was left upset when the Oscar-winning actress wouldn't even look over to acknowledge them.

She added: "She always plays such warm people on the big screen, I thought she would be kind, so when she was mean, I was crushed.

"I watched Titanic 13 times when I was 12 years old, and Kate wouldn't even look up for a second to acknowledge we were all adoring her.

"Everyone in town was really hurt. After she took off, one lady right next to me specifically said, 'Wow. How rude was that?'"

This is not the first time Kate has upset Titanic fans. She recently admitted she can't stand hearing the movie's love theme, My Heart Will Go On.

She said: "I feel like throwing up when I hear it. I wish I could say, 'Oh listen, everybody! It's the Celine Dion song!' But I don't.

"I just have to sit there, you know, kind of straight-faced with a massive internal eye roll."
