The couple, who have been dating since September 2009, have reportedly arranged for 85 of their closest family and friends to travel to a secret location in India for the ceremony, which is expected take place later this month.
A source said: "The wedding will be themed, with guests asked to all wear the same colour. The only problem is, nobody yet knows what colour."
Russell, who proposed to Katy at the Taj Rambagh Palace hotel in Jaipur on New Year's Eve last year, claimed he has been dropping false hints about where the top secret ceremony will be held, in order to ensure privacy for the couple on their big day.
When asked where the wedding would take place, he said: "The Arctic, India, Egypt on a pyramid, at the earth's core, in the arms of Vishnu… I try to spread different rumours so that on the day we can sneak off!"
The 35-year-old star, who has a history of alcohol and drug addiction, also admitted he is a changed man since meeting 25-year-old Katy, revealing she keeps him out of trouble.
Speaking on The Today Show, he said: "I've got a lot more energy when I'm on tour, primarily. And I stay out of mischief a lot more. It's really good."
