Kelly Clarkson vomits a 'dozen times' a day

Los Angeles - Kelly Clarkson has been vomiting a "dozen times a day" due to morning sickness.

The Since U Been Gone hitmaker is suffering from terrible first trimester ailments and while she is ecstatic to be expecting a child with her husband Brandon Blackstock, she hasn't had the easiest start to her pregnancy.

Speaking during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she said: "I vomit a good dozen times a day. It's, like, bad. I vomited before coming out here and I had a peppermint so you didn't know ... I'm not even kidding, it's so bad. It's so bad. I know it's, like, so gross!"

Kelly - who is 11 weeks into her pregnancy - also admitted she has been feeling unattractive and is yet to see the alleged beauty benefits mothers are supposed to gain when carrying a child.

She explained: "Everybody tells you that you glow and your hair is pretty and your nails are pretty. That's total crap! My nails are short, my hair still falls out - it's not all lush and beautiful - and I have no glow. Unless it's, like, something left over from a bad throw up. It's horrible."

The 31-year-old star claims the upside of pregnancy is ditching alcohol as she is unable to handle her drink on boozy nights out.

Kelly laughed: "It's weird. I'm not a big drinker, but if I am drinking, it's like I'm trying to win some award. It's really bad. It's like, 'I'm gonna get the drunkest! Who's holding my hair?' It's really bad. I'm not a good drinker."
