Kim Kardashian: Prank calls aren't funny
Los Angeles - Kim Kardashian is furious after her family were caught up in a prank shooting.
The reality TV star has hit back after her mother Kris, step-father Bruce and sisters Kendall and Kylie became the latest victims of a 'swatting' incident, that saw heavily armed officers show up at their door in Calabasas, California, after a hoax caller claimed a shooter was in the house and they heard a gun being fired.
After hearing about the incident, Kim, who is currently in the Ivory Coast, Africa, blasted the prank caller on her Twitter page, posting:
The Kardashian family aren't the first celebrity victims of such a hoax.
Police were called to Tom Cruise's Beverly Hills home on 17 January, by a prank caller who claimed an armed robbery was taking place but they found no crime had been committed.
String of 'swattings'
A 12-year-old child also previously targeted Ashton Kutcher and Justin Bieber's homes in a series of elaborate prank burglaries.
Police were called to the 34-year-old Two And A Half Men star and the 18-year-old Canadian popstar's homes, along with a number of other celebrity owned properties over the past few months, after they received anonymous calls claiming the houses were being robbed and in some cases victims had been taken hostage.
A 12-year-old suspect from California was arrested for making the prank 911 calls in December.
Police were also called to Simon Cowell's home in November in what was the latest in a string of celebrity swattings last year - a deliberate attempt to trick an emergency service into dispatching a response team - and officers were also called to Miley Cyrus' home in August after a caller claimed her home had been broken in to but when they arrived at the scene, they discovered it was empty.
