Kim Kardashian West goes househunting in New York

New York - Kim Kardashian West is looking for a family home in Manhattan.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star doesn't want to live in husband Kanye West's pre-martial bachelor pad and has therefore been scouting New York City for a more suitable property for the couple and their 13-month-old daughter North.

The brunette beauty recently viewed a $50m, 7,693-square foot penthouse in an Eco-friendly building where Leonardo DiCaprio also has an apartment.

The luxury property boasts vitamin C-filtered showers, rhythm lighting customised to individual sleep patterns, filtered water and a herb garden in a state-of-the-art chef's kitchen.

Kim toured the property - which has a floating, hand-crafted metal staircase, an elevator and a 2 200-square-foot private roof terrace - with her mother Kris Jenner and half-sister Kendall Jenner, the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column reports.

As well as looking for a New York base, 33-year-old Kim who tied the knot in May, has reportedly purchased a new $20m home with Kanye, 37, near her mother's mansion in the Hidden Hills area of Los Angeles.

A source said the couple, who are planning to sell their $11m Beverly Hills house, as they are fed up with waiting for their extensive renovations to be completed, are now in the works of purchasing the 3.5 acre estate, which was originally listed for $21m and boasts two swimming pools, two vineyards and a 1 050 square foot entertainment pavilion.

The lavish house was previously owned by Lisa Marie Presley and the couple first fell in love with it a few months ago.
