Kim Kardashian West would do anything for a role on the hit series Downton Abbey

Los Angeles - Kim Kardashian West wants to star in Downton Abbey.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is reportedly desperate to land a role in the ITV period drama, and resorted to seeking advice from Laura Carmichael, who plays Lady Edith Crawley, on how best to secure a part.

According to The Sun newspaper, the 33-year-old beauty - who wed rapper Kanye West earlier this year - said: "I'm a big fan. I'd love to be on it if they asked. I love things like that."

The mother-of-one has previously had cameo TV roles in Beyond The Break and Drop Dead Diva, and recently filmed scenes for the fourth season of hit CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls.

Kim's latest TV adventure involves a role on the hit comedy series American Dad, in which she plays an obsessed alien. She excitedly posted a pic on Instagram while recording in studio.

She captioned the picture with "I'm so excited for tonight's episode of American Dad! I play an alien who's obsessed with Roger! Tune into FOX tonight at 9:30pm @AmericanDadFox"

The curvaceous star does however, hope the producers of Downton Abbey don't remember her appearance in the spoof comedy Disaster Movie which flopped on its release in 2008.

Last week, it was revealed Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney has secured a role in the award-winning TV show in a charity Christmas special.
But it is not known whether producers would be that keen on offering Kim a role.

Downton Abbey returned to UK screens on Sunday for a fifth series.
