Kim Kardashian and Kanye West honeymoon without North

Cork - Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are on their honeymoon without daughter North West.

The newlyweds - who married in a lavish ceremony at Forte di Belvedere o di San Giorgio Firenze in Florence, Italy, on Saturday - have left their 11-month old, North, with Kim's family while they enjoy a break in Cork, Ireland.

North was seen leaving on a flight out of Italy with Kim's mother, Kris Jenner, after the wedding, while the reality TV star and her new husband landed in Ireland, where they are staying at the five-star Castlemartyr Resort in East Cork.

A source told People.com: "They planned to stay in Europe for a week or two post-wedding, until Kanye has to perform at the X Games in Austin,Texas, on 7 June."

The couple are said to be attending Kanye's stylist's wedding, which is also in Europe, this coming weekend.

The Castlemartyr Resort has a long history, and according to its website was "first built in 1210 by The Knights Templar, who were one of the most famous of the Christian military orders under the leadership of Richard Earl de Clare, more commonly known as Strongbow."

It was also the site of a friary for Carmelite priests, and in the 1800s Richard Boyle, the First Earl of Cork, built a huge mansion on the property.

The couple are staying in the hotel's presidential suite, and have also booked out seven other rooms in the property to ensure their privacy, at an estimated cost of almost $70 000.

Brunette beauty Kim previously enjoyed a low-key visit to Ireland, flying to Dublin in June 2012 to help Kanye celebrate his birthday while he was there on tour.

Afterward, she wrote on her blog: "I've really enjoyed my time in Ireland".
