Kim Kardashian hosts wedding for free

Los Angeles - Reality TV star Kim Kardashian reportedly did not spend a cent on her lavish wedding and is expected to benefit financially from the star-studded event held in Los Angeles on Saturday.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Kardashian family stands to gain from the $10m wedding extravaganza after making multi-million dollar promotional deals with various media outlets and sponsors.

The engagement announcement was sold to People magazine for $300 000 and Britain's OK Magazine paid $100 000 for the bridal shower coverage.

In addition, People magazine has exclusive access to the wedding photos and are paying the couple $1.5m for the privilege.

Kim's stepfather, Bruce Jenner, is said to have negotiated the magazine deal.

Promotional exposure

Many of the suppliers and vendors involved in Kim and Kris Humphries' big day are believed to have either discounted their services or are giving their products/services for free in return for the promotional exposure that goes with the Kardashian name.

The Daily Mail reports that some of the freebies include the Lehr & Black wedding invitations at a cool $10 000; the cake bill from Hansen's Cakes is reportedly $6 000.

The bride was also gifted with the choice of three Vera Wang wedding gowns, valued at $20 000 each.

Even the groom is said to have received a huge discount on his $2m Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring.

The biggest expense for the family appears to have been Kris Jenner's $50 000 facelift she had done especially for her daughter's big day.
