The 32-year-old reality TV star will lend her voice to the part of an extra-terrestrial whose spaceship crash lands in the animated sitcom's fictional suburb of Langley Falls, Virginia, and her character is to fall in love with the show's zany alien Roger, who is voiced by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.
While details of Kim's episode, which is likely to air later in the Fox series following the season's return on 29 September, are largely being kept under wraps, her alien alter-ego will end up in an intense relationship with Roger.
Several stars have signed up to lend their vocal talents to characters in the show including Zooey Deschanel, Alison Brie, Olivia Wilde and Stanley Tucci.
As well as starring on hit reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, busty beauty Kim has made cameo appearances in several shows including drama series CSI: NY as murder suspect Debbie Fallon, and she appeared in comedy film Disaster Movie in 2008.
Kim has also starred as herself in a number of US programmes including teen drama 90210 and sitcoms How I Met Your Mother and 30 Rock.
