Kim and Kris 'needed to talk'

Los Angeles - Kim Kardashian flew to Minnesota for a heart-to-heart chat with Kris Humphries because the couple needed to "show their emotions" to each other.

The 31-year-old beauty - who filed for divorce from Kris after just 72 days of marriage last week - met with the basketball player and Pastor Joel Johnson, who presided over their wedding in August, on Sunday and Kim's mother Kris Jenner has claimed it was an important meeting for her daughter because she is trying to figure out what's going on.

She explained: "She really needed to talk to him. They (need to) show their emotions. She needs to do what she's doing now and cry and figure it out. She's just trying to follow her heart, and she's going to be OK. It's not the ideal situation. It's not how I expected things to happen, for sure.

"They need me to be strong for them, so that they can show their emotions.

"(Kim) needs to do what she's doing, and cry and figure it out."

'Ugly'

Despite going through a second failed marriage, with her first union to Damon Thomas ending in divorce in 2004, Kris says Kim is a "hopeless romantic" who just wants to settle down.

She told TV show Extra: "Kim is a hopeless romantic. So she wants the fairytale. She wanted to get married and have babies and raise a family and the white picket fence and all that comes with that. She's a really good person with a huge heart.

"Whatever decisions Kim is making right now, she's a very smart girl and she's gonna do the right thing. All I can do is wrap my arms around her and make sure she's OK."

Meanwhile, it has been claimed Kim's meeting with Kris was an attempt to stop things from getting "ugly" between them.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: "(Kim) wanted to see (Kris) face to face to put some finality on it. To give them both some closure. She didn't want things to get ugly with them and it was heading down that road."
