Kurt's shows cancelled after crash

Johannesburg - Kurt Darren's management team has announced that the singer's performances for the next six weeks have been cancelled following a serious car accident on Sunday morning.

The Loslappie singer was airlifted to the Netcare Milpark Hospital in the early hours of the morning after the Toyota Fortuner he was driving in swerved off the road and landed in a ditch close to his house.

Darren, and two other people, were on the way to the singer’s home after watching a rugby match at a restaurant in Pretoria when the accident took place.

According to his brother, Darren van Heerden, the singer has broken eight ribs and is in a serious but stable condition.

"We would like to thank the emergency services for their quick response and for saving Kurt’s life," Louis van Wyk, from Music Profile Management, said in a press release on Monday.

"Kurt will be out of action for the next six weeks. We are currently busy phoning all the clients affected. This includes Kurt's appearance at the Vryfees as well as Skouspel Plus in Cape Town.

"We would also like to thank all of Kurt's friends and loyal fans for the messages of support. It really means a lot," Van Wyk was quoted as saying.
