LOL! Kristen Wiig shares her top trick for staying out past curfew

Los Angeles - Kristen Wiig was visited by police for prank-calling a friend.

The Bridesmaids star has revealed she used to make hoax phone calls to pal Jen as a young girl but soon stopped when local cops visited her to ask her to bring it to a halt.

She explained: "I was a prank-caller and I did have the cops come to my house once for doing that. Because we prank-called this one person a lot and they knew it was us. Her name was Jen. But I got out of things."

When asked why she did it, she added: "It was just the thing, you know, kids do that. We would just call her and say really dumb things. It was obvious it was us.

"The cops said, 'Her parents called us and they really want you to stop doing it.' And I was like, 'I didn't do it.' Then the calls stopped. I had a way of getting out of things."

The 42-year-old actress also revealed a trick she used as a teenager to stay out past her curfew.

Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she said: "I did one thing that I'm almost hesitant to say because I feel like if kids hear it, they're going to do it and then their parents are going to blame me.

"But I would go out with my friends and then I would stay out with my friends past curfew and I would call my house and my mom would answer and I would say, 'Oh that's OK mom, I've got it.' And she'd be like, 'Oh you're at home?' And I'd be like, 'Yeah I'm asleep.'"
