Lamar Odom 'devastated' after crash

Los Angeles - Lamar Odom is "devastated" after a 15-year-old boy involved in an accident with his car died from his injuries.

The basketball player - who is married to Khloe Kardashian - was the backseat passenger in a hired vehicle with a driver in New York City last Thursday when the car struck a motorcycle which then hit the teenage pedestrian.

Although the boy was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital in Queens for emergency surgery, his head injuries proved too severe and he died on Friday with the funeral taking place on Monday.

Lamar tweeted: "Thank you for your support and prayers! My thoughts and prayers are with the young boys family. (sic)"

‘Our spirits stay strong’

His wife Khloe added: "My heart/soul goes out 2every1 in pain from any suffering. Pray 4 all of the angels surrounding us constantly. May our spirits stay strong.

"Above all, love each other deeply, b/c love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality 2 1another without grumbling 1 Peter 4:8-9

"Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Lamar was leaving his cousin's funeral in New York when the accident occurred.
