Lamar Odom says he wants his 'old life' back

Los Angeles - Lamar Odom wants his "old life" back.

The disgraced basketball player - whose four-year marriage to Khloe Kardashian has been rocked by claims of infidelity and crack cocaine addiction - is determined to get back on track and has reportedly been sober for over a week.

Although he is hoping he can prove himself to his two children Destiny, 15, and 11-year-old Lamar Jr. - who he has with ex-girlfriend Liza Morales - the 33-year-old sportsman knows it may be too late to save his marriage.

A source told E! News: "He just wants to get healthy and be there for his kids.

"He is taking steps to get himself back on track. He wants his old life back, although he realises that might not include Khloe.

"He is surrounded by friends. We all hope he has turned a corner."

Getting back in the game

Lamar is currently between teams after spending the last season with the Los Angeles Clippers but is said to be "determined to play for the Lakers again" and recapture the glory days of his career which saw him turn out for LA Lakers for seven seasons, winning two NBA championships and being named Sixth Man of the Year in 2011.

Lamar's barber also claims he has a meeting set up with his former team.

The hairdresser, Enzo from A Cut Above in California, Instagrammed a picture of his famous client, writing alongside it: "He still gets the star on the back of his head like when he played wit the Lakers speaking of which, Wish em the best of luck in his meeting wit the lakers today (sic)"

Khloe and Lamar - who are both still wearing their wedding rings - have been living apart since he was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) on 30 August, but briefly reunited last week following news the reality TV star's mother, Kris Jenner, had split from her husband, Bruce, after 22 years together.

Lamar has pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor count of DUI and a pre-trial hearing is scheduled for November 8. He failed several field sobriety tests on the scene and his licence was suspended for a year when he refused all chemical tests.
