Lea Michele wants a relaxing Christmas

Los Angeles - Lea Michele is looking forward to a relaxing Christmas.

The Glee star - who is slowly coming to terms with the death of her co-star and boyfriend, Cory Monteith, who was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver, Canada, from an overdose in July - has had a tough year and a busy few weeks promoting her debut single, Cannonball, and wants to take some time to "recharge" over the festive season.

She shared her holiday plans on Twitter early Sunday morning, writing: "After an amazing past few weeks it's time to put my feet up recharge, relax and breath in some fresh air."

The 27-year-old actress, who performed on the final of The X Factor USA on Thursday, enjoyed a pre-Christmas snowboarding holiday with Cory last year before flying back to Los Angeles to celebrate with her family.

Lea recently praised her parents for helping her to cope following Cory's tragic passing and insisted she is determined to live life to the full.

She said: "I really feel like I'm still trying to figure out all of this. It's been only a few months, but my mum has experienced a lot of loss in her life and she told me at one point, there is an empowerment that comes with grief - at some point you find it. It's very hard but you will find it, and I think at a certain point you can choose to sort of fall from this or you can choose to rise. And that's what I'm just trying to do my best for him, because I know that that's what he would have wanted."

She added that she hopes to "make something positive for where I go in the rest of my life".
