Lee-Ann Liebenberg wedding pics revealed

Cape Town - The mountains of the Constantia winelands cast long, late-afternoon shadows on the lush lawn where South Africa’s beautiful people are gathered, champagne in hand, for the arrival of the bride.

She’s late, waiting for the last guests to arrive. But no one here at the Constantia Uitsig wine estate in Cape Town is too concerned. Who wouldn’t wait patiently to see internationally renowned celebrity model Lee-Ann Liebenberg on her big day?

Nicky van der Walt, well-known businessman and former polo player, is waiting for his bride. There’s a loud shriek from the couple’s five-month-old baby daughter, Gia, in the front row.

Tearful guests

Many of the 80 guests become tearful as a weeping Lee-Ann approaches in a striking Gideon-designed bridal gown on the arm of her father, Allen, to say her vows to the love of her life, as she has described Nicky.

As a symbol of his love Nicky gives his bride a rose with the message that his love for her keeps growing just as a rose grows from a tiny bud.

Oriental garden

Under a brilliantly moonlit sky the reception area, created by gifted celebrity event planner Nick Nicolaou, resembles a garden in an oriental fairytale, with hundreds of orchids and white lilies, birdcages, lanterns and candles in the trees.

Lee-Ann has changed into her second wedding gown, designed by Gavin Rajah, and loosened her hair. She and her husband enter the reception area hand in hand to loud applause.

Former Miss SA Vanessa Carreira-Coutroulis, TV personality Zuraida Jardine and Lee-Ann’s friend, Katie Andrews, are the bridesmaids.

Beneath a starry sky the guests tuck into kingklip and fillet of beef with veggie delicacies. Then a curtain is drawn aside to reveal the “nightclub” and the couple open the dancefloor to Rod Stewart's song “You’re in my Heart, You’re in my Soul”.
