Man conned by fake Prince Harry on Facebook

Los Angeles - A fraudster posing as Britain's Prince Harry has conned a man out £23 000.

An Austrian tradesman was offered a contract worth £835 000 to renovate the parquet floors in Buckingham Palace by a man on Facebook who was pretending to be the flame haired Royal.

The floor fitter was asked to transfer €27 500 to a number of different bank accounts in order to start himself a British business but, after he failed to hear back from the man - whose Facebook profile was under the name Prince Harry - he decided to contact Austrian police, according to the Kurier newspaper.

Authorities have now advised the unidentified man that his chances of getting the money back are "slim".
