Mandy Moore splits from Ryan Adams

Los Angeles - Mandy Moore has filed for divorce from Ryan Adams.

The Because I Said So actress and her husband have announced their split after nearly six years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences".

A statement read: "Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams have mutually decided to end their marriage of almost 6 years.

"It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for media to respect their privacy at this time"

Meanwhile, Mandy previously revealed that she was going to collaborate with her husband on new music.

She said previously: "Life, life is inspiring what I'm writing about and I don't know exactly what it's going to sound like quiet yet.

"But... I'm going to work with my husband on it and make it at his studio so his influence will be all over it."

The 30-year-old actress and the 40-year-old musician tied the knot in March 2009 and have always been private about their relationship.

When previously asked about Mandy, Ryan famously hung up part-way through a phone interview.

Explaining his reasoning afterwards, he said: "I was really nice about it the first time, and I'm sorry, but I won't repeat myself.

"The deal is this: I'm a private person and I'll be a gentleman and say I'm not talking about my marriage ever. I'll never talk about it. Ever."
