Mariah Carey to file for divorce 'very soon'

Los Angeles - Mariah Carey will allegedly file for divorce from Nick Cannon "very soon".

The Hero hitmaker, 44, who married the America's Got Talent host in 2008 after just six weeks of dating, is reportedly keen to kick-start legal proceedings as soon as possible, maybe even before the weekend, according to New York Daily News' Confidenti@l page.

Nick, 34, announced in August that he and Mariah had been living separately for a few months, but he insisted their main focus was, and always will be, on their three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.

Rumours began to swirl that infidelity may have caused the breakdown of their marriage shortly after Nick announced they'd parted ways, but he was quick to shoot down the cheating allegations just days later.

However, Mariah seemed to subtly break her silence on the matter at the weekend when she performed her Elusive Chanteuse World Tour in Tokyo, Japan.

While performing Billie Holiday's classic Don't Explain, the brunette beauty changed the lyrics to the angry line of "I know you cheated, motherfucker," which left fans wondering if it was a sly reference to Nick.

Meanwhile, the hunk is showing signs that he's keen to move on from Mariah as he had the tattoo of her name on his back morphed into a picture of Jesus Christ.

He also didn't hold back when it came to showing off his new inking as he had the artwork on full display during a night out at the Playhouse nightclub in Hollywood last week in celebration of his 34th birthday.
