Matthew Fox: I've never hit a woman

Los Angeles - Matthew Fox has "never hit a woman before" and "never will."

The former Lost actor was accused of having physically hurt ladies by his former co-star Dominic Monaghan on Twitter, and while he says there's no truth in the accusations, he thinks some people will always believe them.

He told Men's Fitness magazine: "It's been a long, trying year of sitting on my hands on a lot of negative shit said about me, when they're the furthest things from who I am.

"In the 46 years I've been breathing on this planet, I have never hit a woman before. Never have, never will. But I think there's still gonna be a lot of people out there who'll think it's true no matter what."

Matthew - who has been happily married to Margherita Ronchi for twenty years - was earlier this year cleared of punching bus driver Heather Bormann in Cleveland, Ohio, after she dropped her case against him.

DUI was 'stupid'

However, Matthew admits he was right to be pulled over for driving under the influence (DUI) in Oregon in May, saying what he did was "stupid."

He added he was given the "lowest level of alcohol informational treatment the state of Oregon will allow," and won't be doing it again.

He explained: "I will bet you any amount of money that I will never get behind the wheel of a car after even one drink.

"The rest of it, the Cleveland situation, the Monaghan situation - was a pile of bullshit, and I'm not gonna waste too much breath on that."
