London - Council officers arrived at the London home of Paul McCartney in the early hours of Monday to ask the former Beatle to turn down the music while he celebrated his wedding to US socialite Nancy Shevell.
Acting on complaints from neighbours, the officers from the noise abatement team visited the property in St John's Wood, north London, and asked for the volume to be turned down, Westminster City Council confirmed on Monday.
According to reports, the complaint was triggered by noisy renditions of a number of Beatles hits, ending with Hey Jude.
"The volume was reduced on request," said Andrew Ralph, head of noise and licensing for the Council.
Sir Paul, 69, was enjoying a hard day's night with about 100 guests, including rockers, models and popstars, after tying the know with Shevell, 51. It is the third marriage for the former Beatle.
