Michael Lohan: Lindsay's mom a bad seed

Los Angeles - Lindsay Lohan's father thinks her mother is a bad influence.

Michael Lohan is urging his troubled daughter who is trying to rebuild her acting career after repeated stints in rehab and jail to cease contact with his ex-wife Dina, because she is a bad influence.

He told New York Daily News: "I really think Lindsay needs to get away for a while. She just needs to get away from everybody."

The ex-con's rant follows Dina's disastrous sit-down interview on Dr Phil last week, during which she was accused of being intoxicated due to her erratic behaviour.

'Dina is using them to get back at me'

Michael believes Lindsay's assistant Gavin Doyle, who was present when she was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident at Chelsea's Dream Hotel in New York last week, is a good role model and will help keep her out of trouble.

"Gavin keeps Lindsay straight. He is always there for her. He is one of the most honest and caring people around Lindsay right now. Whenever he talks to me, he is never drunk. Dina can't stand that he speaks to me, is all," Michael said.

"Dina said that if Lindsay keeps talking to me and Gavin keeps talking to me that Dina will not let Lindsay come to the house and see her brothers and sister. From my lips to God's ears, she said that. . . . Dina is using them to get back at me," an unhappy Michael told New York Daily News.
