Miley Cyrus: I'd rather be naked than cry

Los Angeles - Miley Cyrus is more comfortable being naked than crying in front of people.

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker has opened up about the creative process behind the music video to her recent hit single - which sees her writhe around naked and straddle a wrecking ball - admitting it was more daunting for her to cry on camera than strip down.

She said: "For me, nudity has never been something that I've ever tripped about. I don't really see it the way everyone else sees it.

"I'd rather be naked in front of people than cry in front of people, because I don't like showing weakness and that shows a lot of, like, vulnerabilities."

The video also features emotional close-ups of the 20-year-old star - who recently called off her engagement to Hunger Games hunk Liam Hemsworth - crying, and Miley says she really felt the emotions she was trying to convey in the footage.

In an interview with VEVO, she added: "I really did feel the way that you see me. I wanted people to look into my eyes and ... you can't even fake that. You can fake tears, you can fake all that, even though I wasn't, but when you look into someone's eyes you can tell if they're really feeling what they are saying or not."
