Monaco royal visit cut short

Cape Town – Princess Charlene of Monaco charmed Capetonians with her grace and smiles during her brief visit to the Mother City on Friday.

The visit however, was cut short and a third appointment with the conservation organisation WWF at Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West was cancelled.

Her visit to a charity organisation in Johannesburg on Saturday was also cancelled.

Princess Charlene and Prince Albert reportedly left in order to attend to urgent business in Monaco. Organisers as well as the people who chaperoned Charlene during her trip refused to give further information.

A source has however said that Charlene flew back to Durban on Friday, after which the pair was said to depart on their honeymoon.

Well-known businesswoman and close friend of Charlene, Bridgette Radebe, supported her throughout. When asked whether Charlene knew where they will be honeymooning, Radebe answered: "She doesn't know. She doesn't know." And did she enjoy her time in South Africa? "Yes, certainly," said Radebe.

The private lives of the newlywed royals have become the subject of much speculation as reports of paternity tests, escape attempts and physical separation have cast doubt on their marital bliss.
