Cape Town – Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage’s son who married a South African in April – has been taken to a hospital for psychiatric observation.
Weston Cage was taken to the hospital after suffering an 'episode' in a restaurant in Hollywood.
Cage married Nikki Williams-Cage from Port Elizabeth in April. The couple resides in the US.
According to the website TMZ.com Cage became "hysterical and violent" towards his fitness instructor after the trainer told him not to order something from the menu.
The incident took place at the Farmers Kitchen restaurant.
The fitness instructor and a bystander reportedly tried to calm Cage down, but his fit of temper continued.

Cage, frontman for black metal group Eyes of Noctum only dropped to the ground when police threatened to tase him.
Police handcuffed Cage, but were so concerned about his unstable condition that he was strapped to a gurney.
According to TMZ it appeared as if Cage was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
There are also reports that Cage and his new wife had an intense argument that same morning which caused her to storm out of the house.
Nicolas Cage is said to be visiting his son in the hospital and will stay there as long as Weston needs him to.
