Oprah saved Fergie's life

London - Britain's Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice think Oprah Winfrey saved their mother's life.

The Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson reached out to the TV chat show host following revelations she had tried to sell access to her ex-husband Prince Andrew last year, and has applauded her for helping her onto her feet.

She told NBC: "I was taken to my knees in May of 2010. I simply had no answers. I had no belief left in me, I had no energy left in me. I had lost my way.

"I remember reaching out to Oprah and saying you know, 'Please, can you help me?' and Oprah sent me to life coach Martha Beck.

'Total unit'

"I know the minute my daughters see Oprah they'll just hug her and never let go of her because she's really saved their mum."

The 51-year-old former royal also revealed the family are a "total unit" when she is living in the UK despite her being divorced from Andrew for over a decade.

She added:"I live with Prince Andrew when I'm in England and the four of us are a total unit. It was just extraordinary and I think it was huge and Prince Andrew said, 'Just remember, I'm only a call away.'"
