PICS: This is why Chris Pratt is just the coolest guy ever!

Los Angeles - Chris Pratt "lifted the spirits" of sick children with a surprise hospital visit at the weekend.

The Jurassic World actor was seen recreating an infamous scene where he trains velociraptors at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital in Louisiana.

He also happily signed posters, played games and spent time at the bedsides of young patients during his visit.

The hospital took to its Facebook page to praise the actor for his generosity...

This isn't the first time kind-hearted Chris - who has two-year-old son Jack with wife Anna Faris - has taken time out of his busy schedule to meet with young fans.

In March, following a Super Bowl bet with Chris Evans that saw his team Seattle Seahawks beaten by the Captain America star's beloved New England Patriots, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor donned his Star-Lord outfit to visit Christopher's Haven, a facility for young cancer patients in Boston.

And despite winning the bet, Evans later visited the Seattle Children's Hospital in his Captain America guise, accompanied by his friend.

Pratt wrote on Twitter: "Had the immense joy yesterday of joining the real Captain America at Seattle Children's Hospital. Thanks to Chris Evans for being a classy #twitterbowl winner (sic)."

Last August, he visited youngster Dylan Prunty in Children's Hospital Los Angeles, where they swapped dialogue from The Lego Movie.
