Cape Town – Pasella presenter Paul Rothman and his partner Monique has called it quits on their relationship.
Rumours that the couple were unhappy surfaced last year, after which Rothman apologised to Monique for his "bad choices" in an interview with Rapport in September.
The couple reconciled and tried to make the relationship work.
Rothman and Monique were married in a ceremony in India in 2006, although they were never officially married under South African law.
They have known each over for more than 20 years and were a couple for 11 years.
Still friends
Pasella's executive director Amor Engelbrecht confirmed last week that Rothman and Monique amicably parted ways at the end of last year.
According to Engelbrecht they will remain friends.
She emphasised that no third party was involved in their decision to end the relationship. This follows claims made by magazines last year that Rothman had an affair with fellow Pasella presenter Vicky Davis.
Engelbrecht said that she doesn't know what Rothman and Monique's final plans are regarding living arrangements and whether they will both stay in Pretoria.
"They are both going through a difficult time and we respect their decision to handle their affairs privately."
