Paul Walker's co-star breaks down at death scene

Los Angeles - Paul Walker's Fast & Furious co-star Tyrese Gibson broke down in tears while visiting the scene of his death on Sunday.

The 34-year-old actor-and-rapper, who starred alongside the 40-year-old actor in the action franchise, stopped by the crash scene in Santa Clarita, California, to pay respects to Paul, who died in a horrific car accident on Saturday.

Tyrese remained silent as he walked up to the site carrying a yellow flower in his hand, but was reduced to tears as he approached the tragic scene.

The star then took away a piece of wreckage from the scene, before posting a picture of the scrap in his hand on Instagram.

He captioned the photo, writing: "I will keep your energy with me forever #AshesOfAnAngel fast family around the world we live you and we love you ...

Paul is the heartbeat of this franchise and were gonna see to it that his energy and presence lives on forever #myhearthurtssobad (sic)"

Gibson also shared one of his last messages to Walker.

The Hollywood star - who is survived by his 15-year-old daughter Meadow - was killed when the Porsche Carrera GT he was a passenger in smashed into a tree and burst into flames after he and friend Roger Rodas, who was driving the super car, decided to go out for a short drive while at a charity event for his organisation Reach Out Worldwide.
