London - Pippa Middleton was praised as an "asset to any kitchen" after spending four weeks at an exclusive cookery school.
The sister of Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, spent a month at exclusive school The Grange in Frome, Somerset, where her tutors were particularly impressed with one menu she created, of scallops, seared red snapper and banana bavarois.
One of Pippa's teachers, William Averill, said: "I tasted the meal she produced and it was absolutely excellent. She got a reference which would have impressed any employer running a professional kitchen."
Proprietor of The Grange Jane Averill said Pippa had fitted in very well at the school when she attended in 2002 and made some good friends, some of whom she is still in contact with now.
Good student
She told the Daily Mail newspaper: "Judging by our notes, Pippa was as good a student as we ever see.
"She came to us after finishing her A-levels, probably as part of her gap year. The students are mostly from private schools and they hope to use a reference from us to get work while they are abroad or to get a job in a ski resort."
Notes held by the cookery school on Pippa read: "She showed good kitchen skills, has a confident personality and got on well with everyone at The Grange. She is capable, well-motivated, reliable and an asset in any kitchen."
