Monaco wedding invitations revealed

Cape Town - Palais Princier has released the official invitations to the wedding of Prince Albert II of Monaco and his swimming champ fianceé, Charlene Wittstock.

Here is a glimpse of the official wedding invitations of 2011's second royal wedding.

Prince Albert II, 53, and Zimbabwe-born Wittstock, 33, are to tie the knot in Monte Carlo in a civil ceremony on July 1, followed by a religious ceremony the following day.

The invitations are written in French, the official language of the tiny Mediterranean state.

This is what the invitations look like:

The invitation stipulates the date and time as well as the dress code. Men are advised to wear either uniform or a dark suit, while ladies are asked to wear hats.

Monarchs and heads of state will watch the wedding from within the palace, while 3 500 less privileged guests will watch the proceedings on a giant screen.
