Prince Harry impresses California girl

London - Britain's Prince Harry has been hailed as "the most charming man I'll ever meet", by a Californian beauty.

The royal impressed Lindsay Swagerty by wrapping her in his towel after one of his friends threw her fully clothed into a pool in San Diego.

The prince was at the Andaz hotel's Ivy rooftop bar in San Diego watching a rugby match with army pals when people started diving into the pool.

Office worker Lindsay, 23, told The Sun newspaper: "Someone got the idea everyone should jump into the pool. This guy picked me up and jumped in with me in his arms - high heels and all. But I didn't care and was having fun!

True gentleman

"Prince Harry was the first to notice me when I got out and he wrapped his towel around me to keep me warm. It was such a gentlemanly thing to do. He is probably the most charming man I'll ever meet."

The 27-year-old prince - who is in the US to complete helicopter pilot training - then met up with Lindsay and some friends at the same hotel the next night, where they enjoyed partying with beer and shots.

Perhaps Harry grabbed his towel so quickly for Lindsay because he knows how it feels to drag himself out of a pool in soaking clothes - as he stunned onlookers in a bar in Hvar, Croatia, earlier this year when he dived into the pool during a night out.

He was also equally charming on that occasion, as one of the girls he partied with, Svetlana Gavilovic, attested.

She said: "He was a true gentleman, very nice and polite. He noticed us and came over to say, 'Hi'. I was very surprised by how approachable he was."
