Princess Beatrice gets a stylist

London - Princess Beatrice's mother hired a stylist for her daughter after her royal wedding outfit disaster.

The queen's granddaughter was ridiculed for the Philip Treacy hat she wore to the wedding of her cousin Prince William to Duchess Catherine in April and Beatrice's mother Sarah, Duchess of York, felt so bad about it she hired a professional to help the royal.

She said: "After the wedding hat thing, I knew that I wasn't there enough to go around the shops, so I pulled in the help of stylist Charlie Anderson for a few weeks.

"I think it is important that Beatrice doesn't become known for having a stylist because she doesn't have one. She has done it all herself and has immaculate good taste but she was working so hard to get her 2:1 degree that she didn't have time to go shopping."

‘Delighted’

Despite being the subject of ridicule, Beatrice - who sold the headpiece for charity - claimed she was delighted by all the attention the hat has received.

She said: "I think it's wonderful that it's had a reaction, it is just a hat after all, and now it has got its own Facebook page and so many fans.

"It's an incredible response to that hat really, I'm glad it provoked so much conversation."
