Los Angeles - Dappy was hospitalised after being kicked in the face by a horse.

The No Regrets hit-maker was reportedly left in agony and "covered in blood" after the animal became agitated during a riding session in the grounds of his home, resulting in the rapper being flung into the air and suffering injuries to his face on Wednesday.

A source told The Mirror newspaper: "Dappy sees himself as a bit of a Lord of the Manor and he was cantering around when the horse reared up suddenly.

"He was left sprawled on the ground, and to make matters even worse, the horse then stamped on his face. There was blood everywhere."

It's reported the 26-year-old rapper - who along with Tulisa Contostavlos and Richard Fazer Rawson formed the group N-Dubz -spent the night in hospital but has seemingly returned home safely after promising fans on Twitter he would see them ''soon'' for his performance at Destiny nightclub in Newcastle Upon Tyne on Friday.

Fans expressed concerns on the nightclub's Facebook page on Thursday night after a ticket hosting website had said the event was cancelled "due to illness of the artist" but the club promoters claim the event will still take place.
