Los Angeles - Rihanna is suing the previous owner of her Beverley Hills mansion.
The Only Girl (In The World) hitmaker has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court claiming the former owner knew about structural defects, such as waterproofing problems and evidence of water intrusion, when the singer bought the $6.9 m property.
The documents explain her home was hit by a "moderate rainstorm" in January 2010 and due to the defects, including a balcony that lacked a proper slope, the flood caused serious damage in a number of rooms that left the house "uninhabitable".
Rihanna is also thought to be suing Prudential California Realty and several companies that designed and inspected the abode, explaining she would not have paid the money she did for the mansion if she was aware of the issues.
In the documents obtained by TMZ, the 23-year-old beauty claims "the actual value of the property at the time of purchase, taking into consideration the extensive construction defects (...) was millions of dollars less".
Blasted by PETA
Meanwhile, the pop star has been blasted by animal charity PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) after appearing at the launch of her Reb'l Fleur perfume in a pale green top made of ostrich feathers in London last month.
PETA spokesperson Sandra Smiley said: "Rihanna is flaunting stolen property, in this case feathers possibly plucked right off their rightful owners' backs.
"She has shown little regard for foxes, cows and reptiles, now she's adding birds to the list of species exploited for her dubious looks. Feathers are often ripped off chickens, geese, ostriches and emus in live plucking.
"This can result in gaping wounds that are sewn up with a needle and thread without anaesthetic."
