Rihanna's crazed stalker has criminal past

Los Angeles - Rihanna has obtained a restraining order against an obsessed stalker.

A judge has ordered Robert Melanson to stay at least 100 yards away from the Stay hitmaker's house and, or, place of business, after the 26-year-old male trespasser was caught creeping on her roof of her home, in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles, earlier this month.

According to TMZ.com, Rihanna wrote she feared for her safety in legal documents because Robert is unstable and has a criminal history.

Although Rihanna was not home at the time of the incident as she was in the UK on her Diamonds World Tour, Robert was arrested and placed on a psychiatric hold but was released two days later.

Another stalker

The 25-year-old R&B star was previously forced to obtain a three-year restraining order against obsessed fan Steveland Barrow in March, after he broke into the property next door, which he wrongly believed to be hers.

In her request for the protection order, Rihanna revealed she feared for her safety after the male fan told police officers that he was invited to her home and allegedly slept in a bed.

He also stole some items from the house. Rihanna previously had a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown after he beat her in 2009.

The singer will try and make this restraining order permanent on July 10.
