Cape Town - Ryk Neethling has been voted the Heat Hot 100 winner for 2012.

This is the third time this title has been bestowed upon Ryk, as he won the same title previously in 2008 and 2009.

After only landing in ninth position last year, the South African heartthrob bounced back to claim the sought-after title.

Other South African celebrities proved quite popular on the list this year, with Sharks player Patrick Lambie at No 4 on the list and Olympic gold medalist Chad Le Clos claiming second position.

Previous winners of the Heat Hot 100 include Victoria Beckham (2004), Johnny Depp (2005), Locnville (2010) and Oscar Pistorius in 2011.

The special edition of Heat, with a complete list of winners, is currently on sale.
