SA bombshell is Holland's 2011 Playmate

Cape Town - A former Cape Town schoolgirl has been named Holland's Playmate of the Year for 2011, reports Timeslive.

Men's magazine, Playboy announced the result earlier this year.

Zimra Geurts, 20, was born in Utrecht, Holland, but once attended Herzlia High School in Thornton, Cape Town, where she was staying with her grandmother.

Timeslive reported that she was personally congratulated by Hugh Hefner when she clinched the Playmate title earlier this year.

In the magazine she is pictured lying among hay bales wearing only a pair of clogs.

The aspirant model has not forgotten the two years she spent studying in South Africa after the failure of her parents' marriage.

"I have so many fun memories of Herzlia, especially of the friends I made there. My favourite subjects were definitely acting and Afrikaans - it's similar to Dutch in a funny way so that always made me laugh," she told the news site.

'We're very proud'

Her South African based family members are not bothered by her featuring nude in the magazine. Instead, they are excited about her achievements.

Her aunt, Gillian Emergui, told SundayTimes: "We're very proud and very happy for her. Initially it was a bit shocking - but she's blossoming. Besides, we've always been a very musical and entertaining family.

"As long as she's happy we're really proud," added her grandmother Anita Kassel.

Geurts' mother is South African and her father is Dutch. She now lives in Toronto, Canada, where she intends to launch her modelling career.

So, it's all about Holland? Why, then, the Hungarian cover of Playboy as a picture?

      Franco - 2012-03-05 17:11

Sorry, I did not notice the language!

      Dvdwalt - 2012-03-05 19:04

Because men are Hungary to sight see from Holland right through to Paraguay

That's the Croatian cover not the Hungarian.

If you want to see Dutch cover just search for "Zimra Geurts" on Google Images. You will find he cover photo there... along with some other photos.

Two years in SA does not make her a South African. Her grandmother must be proud though.

2yrs in SA doesn't make her worth reading about. There I was thinking she's SAn. Well, if I was from holland, Afrikaans would be one of my favorite subjects too. They say Afrikaans is one of the easiest languages in the world to learn, yet it stems from Dutch, which is the 3rd hardest language to learn after Chinese and Swahili. Odd.

lol just saw this now:P I am indeed not South-African, I just lived and went to school there for 2 years=) and spencer.. Dutch is indeed the 3rd hardest language to learn and Afrikaans super easy.. it stems from Dutch in the kind of way that we understand everything you say and you don't understand a word we say.. you see, Afrikaans could be compared with Dutch kinda sounding like a toddler trying to speak its first words.. get it?:) enjoy the rest of your day!

Sorry Zimra, my experience is just the opposite. When in the Netherlands, I can follow the Dutch just fine, but the Dutch cannot understand Afrikaans. It's words like "baie" etc that confuses them.
